Muntinlupa lies within 14 degrees 23' longitude and 121 degrees 02' and is located on the Southwestern Coast of Laguna de Bay. It is bounded on the North by Taguig, on the Northwest of Parañaque, on the west of Las Piñas, on the Southwest by the Province of Cavite, South by the Province of Laguna and on the East by Laguna de Bay.

It is 22 kilometers South of Metro Manila, easily accessible to all points of Metro Manila through the National Highway and South Luzon Expressway. It is consist of 9 Barangays. In which, Barangay Alabang is included.

Barangay Alabang is the most commercialized barangay in the City with a total of 8.064 sq.kms., as host to the Filinvest Corporate City and the Alabang Commercial Center, and given its proximity to the Madrigal Business Park, it is projected to fuel the City's Development. These developments have transformed the once agricultural village into a modern area, with a total of 48,002 populations.

At present, even the residential portion of the barangay along the old provincial road (aplaya road) is lined with commercial establishments, reflecting the fast paced commercialization of the area.
