JULY 2008 DepEd-Muntinlupa to Conduct Training for 3 Schools to Pilot New Reading Program The Division of City Schools of Muntinlupa shall conduct a one-day training for selected teachers of Putatan and Buli Elementary Schools and Pedro E. Diaz High School in the use of Special Reading Program Exercises. Said training which is sponsored by Rep. Rozzano Rufino Biazon will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008, 7:30 am - 5:00 pm at the Division Office Conference Room and aims to better develop the reading skills of our pupils and students to ensure better learning and high academic performance. In the said Special Reading Program Exercises, Putatan Elementary School, Buli Elementary School and Pedro E. Diaz High School are selected as pilot implementors of the program. Putatan and Buli shall send two (2) teachers from each grade level from Grades II to VI and all grade one teachers of the same schools. PEDHS shall send two (2) teachers each from first and second year levels. Teachers should be those teaching sections 1 and 3 in every grade/year level. There are no registration fees to be paid. Lunch and morning/afternoon snacks will be served. |
JULY 2008 DCS, Muntinlupa Supports Sec. Lapuz' Massive Tree-Planting, Tree-Growing and Tree-Caring Program The Schools Division Superintendent of the Division of City Schools, Muntinlupa, Dr. Fe L. Faz, recently issued the Division Memorandum No. 78 s. 2008 requesting all public and private elementary and secondary schools of the Division to comply with DepEd Order No. 33 s. 2008 re: "Responding to the Threats of Climate Change and Global Warming Through Massive, Intensive and Sustained Tree-Planting, Tree-Growing and Tree-Caring Program". She designated two (2) Tree Planting Coordinators of the Division in the person of Dr. Armando N. Romero for public schools and Dr. Francisca A. Pagkalinawan for private schools respectively. Likewise, all schools are advised to designate a coordinator for this program. The Division Action Plan is issued for ready reference and guidance of all schools in the implementation of the program and the preparation of their own plans of action. Meanwhile, this Division congratulates Muntinlupa Science High School for being the first school that conducted a tripartite Memorandum of Agreement and Tree Planting activities with DENR and the local government on June 25, 2008. Dr. Faz has commended Mrs. Madeline Ann Diaz, Principal of said school and has encouraged other school principals to start doing similar activities. In the recent meeting of the Association of Private School Administrators of Muntinlupa (APSAM), Dr. Faz, in her welcome address, challenged all private school officials to plant trees especially malunggay. In the same occassion, Dr. Armando N. Romero, the TLE/EPP Supervisor, tackled the activities that the private schools can pursue in line with the implementation of said program in their respective schools. |
